Its story
10 Vulpeculae inhabits the modest Fox of the northern summer, some 332 light-years away. It is a yellow G-type star, a cousin of the Sun but further along its evolutionary path, with an atmosphere that has already begun to swell. Its light departed around 1690, in the full midst of the Scientific Revolution, while Newton and Flamsteed were exchanging letters —not always cordial— about the data of the sky.
