Highly luminous starIts story
19 Vulpeculae is a luminous K-type star more than 1,400 light-years away, in the modest constellation of the Little Fox. Despite its remoteness, it reaches magnitude 5.51 thanks to a luminosity far above the Sun s, typical of an orange giant in an advanced state. The Little Fox sits within the Milky Way, between Cygnus and Aquila, and this distant point enriches the bright dust where the galactic plane sweeps through.
