Hot blue starIts story
34 Piscium lies in the Fishes, the long zig-zag that closes the zodiac. It is a blue B-type star around 305 light-years away, with an intrinsic luminosity far greater than the Sun's and a temperature high enough to excite hydrogen across its outer layers. Its light set out at the dawn of the 18th century, while Halley was still drafting his comet tables.
