Alpherg
Eta
Its story
Alpherg drifts in Pisces, the twin fish bound by a celestial thread. Its name, from the Arabic «al-fargh», alludes to the mouth or spout of water, a recurring image across this region of the sky. A yellow G-class giant some 349 light years away, when its light left the star, baroque music was beginning to sound in Europe and telescopes were still a recent novelty.
