Psi-1
Its story
Psi-1 Piscium belongs to the celebrated Circlet of Pisces, that pentagonal asterism tracing the head of one of the two fish in the zodiacal constellation. It is a white A-type star 280 light-years away, young and hot, whose light has been travelling for almost three centuries: what we see tonight set out roughly when Antoine Lavoisier was founding modern chemistry. It is part of one of the oldest corners of the zodiac, where the Sun has stood at the vernal equinox for many centuries.
