What is Epsilon Piscium

ε Piscium traces part of the cord that links the two celestial fishes. An orange K-type giant some 182 light-years away, her warm hue contrasts with the muted backdrop of Pisces, a zodiacal constellation crossed by the vernal equinox —the point where the Sun crosses the celestial equator each spring—.

Epsilon Piscium lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is October, when it culminates around midnight.

From London it culminates about 46° above the horizon.
From New York it culminates about 57° above the horizon.
From Sydney it culminates about 48° above the horizon.

It can be seen from anywhere north of 82° S.
