What is Delta Piscium

Delta Piscium burns with the deep golden light of an orange K-type giant, already swollen in its outer envelope after exhausting the hydrogen of its core. Its hue, perceptible even to the naked eye on a dark night, contrasts with the cold white of most of its neighbours in the constellation of the Fishes. Its light has been crossing space for more than three centuries before reaching our atmosphere.

Delta Piscium lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is October, when it culminates around midnight.

From London it culminates about 46° above the horizon.
From New York it culminates about 57° above the horizon.
From Sydney it culminates about 49° above the horizon.

It can be seen from anywhere north of 82° S.
