24 Vulpeculae is a G-type giant 438 light-years away, an evolved cousin of the Sun yet far larger and more luminous. It shines in the small constellation of the Fox, neighbour to the Summer Triangle asterism formed by Vega, Deneb and Altair. Its yellow light travels from the era of the first refracting telescopes.
