Variable starIts story
In tiny Vulpecula, the celestial fox, beats a blue B-type variable whose brightness never quite settles. Its light crosses 991 years from an age —the eleventh century— when Europe was raising Romanesque cathedrals and Persian astronomers were refining their tables. It is a bonfire far hotter than the Sun, locked in slow breaths no one on Earth can hear.
