Its story
In Pavo, the southern peacock, glows an orange K-type giant 318 light-years away. Its light set out as Bach took up his post at the court of Weimar and began composing the first great organ works. Cooler than the Sun but markedly larger, it serves as a golden gem among the stylised feathers of the bird —in a corner of the firmament known only to southern skies.
