Its story
In the plumage of Pavo glows a yellow G-type star, southern double of the Sun. Its light departed sixty-five years ago, when Yuri Gagarin was orbiting the Earth and humankind first leaned out into space. Warm and calm, it looks like a small family fire hung in the southern sky. To see it tonight is to return to the precise moment when humanity looked down from outside and discovered that its home was blue.
