21 Lyncis shines about 273 light-years away in one of the dimmest constellations of the northern sky: Lynx, sketched by Hevelius for those with «the eyes of a lynx». A young, restrained A-type star, it carries no famous companions, only its own clean white glow. Across this sparsely lit patch of sky it stands out as one of the few stable beacons in the Lynx outline.
