A yellow Sun-like glow tucked among the scarce bright points of Lynx, a constellation so faint Hevelius named it for the eyes of the lynx. Its light left 817 years ago, when Genghis Khan was unifying the steppes and Europe had no inkling of the empire rising across central Asia.
