29 Piscium is a hot blue B-type star at the southern end of Pisces, where the Fishes almost graze the Whale. It shines from around 454 light-years away, and it carries one of the very lowest identifiers in the Hipparcos catalogue —HIP 145—, near the very start of the inventory that the eponymous space mission drew of the entire sky in the late twentieth century.

29 Piscium lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is September, when it culminates around midnight.

- From Sydney it culminates about 59° above the horizon.
It can be seen from anywhere south of 87° N.
