Its story

In the broad plumage of Pavo gleams an orange K-type star. Its light departed twelve hundred and sixty-four years ago, when Charlemagne was being crowned emperor and Europe was trying to rebuild an imperial order. Cooler than the Sun, its glow arrives coppery and ancient, like an ember barely alive in the embers of the southern sky.
