Its story
In the austral Pavo, a peacock from Greek mythology now drawn in the southern sky, shines this yellow G-type star, an elder sibling of the Sun. Its light set out around 411 years ago, near 1615, when Cervantes published the second part of «Don Quixote» and consecrated the first modern novel. As yellow as our star but older and brighter, it hints at how the Sun might shine billions of years from now. Its quiet glow goes unnoticed amid the treasures of a sky rarely watched.
