Its story
Gamma Coronae Australis belongs to the southern diadem, the small crown that seems to have fallen at the feet of Sagittarius. It is a yellowish-white F-type star lying just 56 light-years away, a close neighbour in galactic terms. Its delicate light closes one of the most discreet constellations in the sky, a garland of faint stars that yields its shape only to patient observers and to skies untouched by light pollution.
