Its story

In Corona Australis pulses slowly an M-type star, red and dilated, far cooler than the Sun yet far larger; its brightness shifts with the calm of an ancient bellows. Its light set out more than six centuries ago, when the Van Eyck brothers painted in Bruges and Portuguese navigators dared beyond Cape Bojador. It arrives now with that same serenity.
