What is HIP 77442

In the curved diadem of the Northern Crown pulses a white variable A-class star, in a region of sky whose light has been crossing enormous distance. Young variable A stars beat in rapid cycles, expanding and contracting in response to tensions of pressure and radiation; they are genuine cosmic metronomes with which astronomers measure the geometry of the universe.
