Its story
Kappa Tucanae resides in the southern constellation of the Toucan, about 68 light-years away —relatively close in galactic terms. It is a yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter than the Sun. It shares the sky with the Small Magellanic Cloud and the globular cluster 47 Tucanae, two spectacular neighbours that outshine its fame but not its nearness: belonging to neither, it lies far closer to us than both.
