Zeta Tucanae lies just 28 light-years away, one of the most Sun-like single stars within our telescopes' reach in the entire southern hemisphere. Should humanity ever search for a home like our own, this point in the southern Toucan will appear on any reasonable short list of candidates. Yellow, calm, almost ordinary light, arriving from a distance a photon crosses in less than a cosmic sigh.
