Its story

20 Puppis is a yellow G-type giant set in the Stern, a fragment of ancient Argo Navis, the ship of Jason broken apart by eighteenth-century astronomers. Almost nine hundred light-years away, its light departed when the Iberian Christian kingdoms were still reshaping themselves. It shines discreetly amid the stellar profusion of the southern Milky Way.
