Far more massive and hotter than the Sun, its surface burns at tens of thousands of degrees and its intrinsic brilliance vastly exceeds that of our daytime star. To behold it is to glimpse the Middle Ages translated into light.

HIP 38010 lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is February: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
