Delta-2 Canis Minoris is a yellow-white F-type star about 136 light-years away, within the lesser dog —companion to Orion and his greater hound. The figure is small but strategic: it holds Procyon, one of the nearest and brightest stars. Delta-2 shines beside it with a slightly warmer tone, a quiet attendant to a first-magnitude star.
