Ome
Variable starIts story
Omega Geminorum is a rare yellow supergiant, one of the truly large stars in the sky: 72 times the Sun's radius and 1,800 times its luminosity, condensed into a faint spark by its 1,500-light-year remoteness. A low-amplitude variable, it pulses slowly between the twins Castor and Pollux. Brought closer, it would outshine most known stars of the night sky.
