Its story
39 Aurigae is an F-type star 162 light-years away, within the Charioteer, the pentagonal figure mythology ties to the inventor of the four-horse chariot. Auriga presides over the winter sky with brilliant Capella, and though 39 Aurigae sits at its periphery, it shares the same landscape crossed by the luminous band of the Milky Way. Its light departed in the 1860s, during the American Civil War.
