Highly luminous starIts story
At 2104 light-years, in the northern Charioteer, shines an extraordinarily luminous class A white star whose light set out around the beginning of our era, when Rome was living the transition between republic and empire under Augustus. Its white, hot atmosphere pours out thousands of times the Sun's energy, reaching the human eye despite the immense distance. It is a far white bonfire of the northern winter.
