Hot blue starIts story
93 Tauri burns with the blue-white light only the hottest stars emit: a B-type star 417 light-years away, set in the region of Taurus that stretches toward the Pleiades and the Hyades. Its surface comfortably exceeds 10,000 K, and the energy it pours into space is many times the Sun's. It belongs to the brief, violent lineage of blue suns: short lives, intense glow, often spectacular endings.
