Celaeno
Hot blue starIts story
Celaeno is one of the seven Pleiades sisters, mythological daughters of the titan Atlas and the oceanid Pleione, turned into stars to escape the hunter Orion who pursued them. It is a hot blue B-type star 377 light-years away, young and bright, wrapped along with its sisters in a faint veil of interstellar dust illuminated by their own glow. In Japanese, the cluster is called Subaru, and its arrangement was revered by cultures as distant as the Maya and the Aboriginal peoples of Australia.
