Its story
81 Tauri lies 147 light-years away, deep inside the Bull, not far from the Hyades —the open cluster closest to the Solar System. It is a white A-type star, young and hot, its steady light anchoring that corner of the winter sky where Aldebaran, Taurus's red eye, marks the border with Orion. Visible to the naked eye under clear skies.
