Its story
44 Piscium is a G-type star 470 light-years away, a distant kin of the Sun within the sinuous shape of the Fishes, where the ecliptic crosses the autumn sky. Though it shares our star's spectral class, its distance and apparent brightness reveal a giant in a later phase. The light arriving now left around 1556, during the closing years of Charles V's reign.
