Hot blue starIts story
In Taurus, not far from the Pleiades, shines a blue star at 571 light-years. Its light departed in the late fifteenth century, when European courts were preparing for the great oceanic voyages and astronomers were copying the Greek Almagests. Class B, its surface exceeds 12,000 K and its intrinsic brightness makes it stand out despite the distance. One more among the hot young stars populating this region rich in bright suns.
