Its story
63 Tauri is a white A-type star set in Taurus, only 163 light-years away, within the wide field that embraces the Hyades cluster. Though it does not stand out to the naked eye, it shares the same galactic neighbourhood as the nearest patch of young stars surrounding Aldebaran. Its light, having left the photosphere in the mid-nineteenth century, arrives now with the cold clarity that gives away the youngest A stars on the main sequence.
