What is 32 Tauri
32 Tauri lies about 138 light-years away, in the part of the Bull near the Hyades —the open cluster that draws the face of the mythological animal. It is a yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter than the Sun and quicker to burn through its hydrogen. Its light set out around 1888, in the very decade when astronomy was inventing the first photographic plates of the sky.

32 Tauri lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is November: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
