Its story
32 Tauri lies about 138 light-years away, in the part of the Bull near the Hyades —the open cluster that draws the face of the mythological animal. It is a yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter than the Sun and quicker to burn through its hydrogen. Its light set out around 1888, in the very decade when astronomy was inventing the first photographic plates of the sky.
