Its story
80 Tauri belongs to the Hyades, the nearest open cluster to the Sun —a swarm of sibling stars about 153 light-years away that traces the Bull's head. Its members were born together hundreds of millions of years ago and still travel in formation across the galaxy. It is one of the cluster's doubles within reach of a modest telescope: two yellow-white points sharing a common origin.
