Its story

13 Tauri burns blue about 539 light-years away, in the body of the Bull, not far from the famous Pleiades cluster. Its B spectrum reveals a surface above twenty thousand degrees, a cold and electric quality of light. The light reaching the eye tonight broke free when the great Renaissance navigators were first crossing the oceans.
