It belongs as well to Piscis Austrinus, yet its light is a serene orange typical of K-class stars already entering a more mature phase of their lives. That glow set out close to 535 years ago, when Christopher Columbus had just returned from his first voyage to the Antilles and Europe's cultural horizon was widening beyond measure. It is an orange giant, far more expansive than the Sun and with a warmer-hued radiance. Its glow evokes the slow promise of an evening sky.
