Lam
Hot blue starIts story
Lambda Piscis Austrini is a hot blue-white star burning in the body of the Southern Fish, some five hundred light-years from Earth. It shines close to Fomalhaut, the lonely star that dominates that strikingly empty region of the autumn sky, but with a much cooler and cobalt-tinged hue than its famous neighbour. Its light set out when the Spanish conquerors were raising Lima beside the calm waters of the Rímac and laying out the grid plan of the new capital.
