What is Pi 1 Pegasi
Pi-1 Pegasi is a yellow giant about two hundred and ninety light-years away, an elder sibling of the Sun that has already swollen its atmosphere and burned through its core hydrogen. It rides the sky beside its visual partner Pi-2, another optical doublet —the kind that becomes a small exclamation mark for anyone who finds it with binoculars on a quiet night.

Pi 1 Pegasi lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is September: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight. How high it climbs above the horizon depends on the latitude you watch from.
