Its story
87 Pegasi is a yellow G-class star some two hundred and eighty-five light-years away, set on the flank of Pegasus’ great square. Its colour recalls the Sun, though at such a distance it must in nature be a far more luminous giant or subgiant. Its light set out when the Netherlands were seeing the first generation of refracting telescopes come into being.
