67 Pegasi is a blue-white B-type star 473 light-years away, in one of the corners of the Winged Horse's great quadrilateral. B stars are young and hot, marked for a brief and violent stellar life before their final transformation. Its light, set out around the middle of the sixteenth century, has travelled across the entire modern era to reach tonight's sky.
Where it is and when to see it
67 Pegasi lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is September: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight. How high it climbs above the horizon depends on the latitude you watch from.
