Its story
86 Pegasi is a yellow G-type star about 373 light-years away, set in the region of the great Square of Pegasus, the sober and precise figure that guides autumn skywatchers. It shares its spectral class with the Sun, though it sits at a more advanced stage of evolution and burns more intensely. It rounds out one of the winged horse's secondary flanks, on the border with Andromeda and the Fishes.
