Its story

Lambda Capricorni rests 282 light-years away in Capricornus —the zodiacal figure with the body of a goat and the tail of a fish that the Babylonians already pictured as a hybrid creature. A white A-type star, young and hot, it is somewhat more massive and far more luminous than the Sun. Its modest brightness blends into the triangular outline of the constellation, far from its more brilliant landmarks.
