Its story
33 Capricorni glows orange some 239 light-years away, a K-type giant settled within the constellation of the Sea-Goat. Its surface, several thousand degrees cooler than the Sun's, holds that warm, serene light marking evolved stars. The beam crossing the eyepiece tonight set out in the late eighteenth century —when the first hot-air balloons were conquering European skies— and now returns above the southern horizon on the nights of late summer.
