Its story
21 Aquarii glows orange within the Water-Bearer, the zodiacal figure that pours a river of stars southward, gathered farther on at the mouth of the Southern Fish. It is a K-type giant, far cooler than the Sun yet considerably expanded, a star that has long left the youth of the main sequence behind. From 388 light-years, the light reaching us tonight departed in the early seventeenth century, when telescopes were barely two decades old.
