Its story

18 Aquarii is a yellow-white F-type star roughly 154 light-years away, comparatively close, set within the Water-Bearer who pours his stream toward the southern autumn sky. Its light slipped away in the middle of the nineteenth century, in the very years when the first spectral types were being discovered and stars finally yielded their chemistry to careful reading of their light. A faithful messenger, almost punctual on the cosmic scale.
