Hot blue starIts story
Lambda Cygni is a blue-white B-type star lying some 770 light-years away, set into one of the arms of the Northern Cross that forms the Swan. Its young, highly energetic light places it among the hot stars populating the plane of the Milky Way, in a region crossed by faint nebulae and by the gas filaments of the great Cygnus Rift.
