μ¹ Cygni is a binary star just 73 light-years away, set in one of the extended wings of the Swan. Its two F-class yellow-white components orbit each other in a slow waltz that takes several human generations to complete. Through a telescope, what the catalogue lists as a single point splits into two close suns, bound by gravity since their shared birth.
