Hot blue starIts story
π Capricorni inhabits the body of the Sea-Goat, that zodiacal half-circle between Eagle and Southern Fish. It is a triple system about 545 light-years away, dominated by a bright blue-white giant of type B8 II-III, nearly six times the Sun's mass and 238 times its luminosity. It carries a traditional name, Oculus —the eye—, surviving from ancient star lists.
