Its story
In the rich neighborhood of Sagittarius, where the Milky Way turns into luminous mist, glows this yellow-white F-type star. Its light set out barely a century ago, around 1926, when Hubble showed that galaxies were separate islands and multiplied the size of the universe. Slightly hotter and brighter than the Sun, it holds a quiet spot facing the galactic center. There, among nebulae and dark clouds, its almost familiar glow contrasts with the immensity that serves as its backdrop.
